Writing is hard. That's why I love it.
I've spent the past 20-plus years diving into complicated topics, then writing (and rewriting) my way toward ideas and insights.
I've helped stockpickers describe shifts in the financial markets, public-interest lawyers fight for more equitable schools, and new leaders learn the fundamentals of management — just to name a few of my adventures in writing and editing.
I have a B.A. in English from Simmons College and an M.F.A. in fiction from Colorado State University. During my three years as a grad student, I taught composition and creative writing to undergraduates.
I'm also a published essayist (New York Times), piano nerd, and spoiler of cats. I currently live in Chicago with my husband and a loquacious tabby named Ziggy Stardust.
